Write from the Start:
Engaging K-3 Students with Explicit Writing Instruction

Picture
Write from the Start is designed to support educators in Kindergarten through Grade 3 in developing strong foundational writing skills in young learners through explicit, intentional, and responsive instruction. Aligned with the Ontario Language Curriculum (2023) and rooted in the values of Catholic education, this resource offers sample lessons that blend research based strategies with real-world and faith-filled learning opportunities.

Each lesson in Write from the Start is thoughtfully designed to provide a rich and developmentally appropriate experience in early writing instruction.
